Sonic Water Sampler

Sonic water samplers are an excellent tool for collecting isolated zone water samples while sonic drilling. Our unique design ensures screen isolation until the desired sampling depth is reached and full screen exposure to allow collection of the water sample.

Operation

• Lower the water sampler through the sonic casing until the sampler reaches the bottom of the cased hole.
   
• Upon reaching the bottom of the cased hole, advance the water sampler into the formation to the desired sampling zone.
   
• When the water sampler has reached the desired sampling zone, stop applying downward pressure.
   
• Turn the drill string ¼ turn, to seat the sampler into the formation.
   
• Retract the drill string by an amount equal to the length of the screen, thus exposing the screen. At this time, the undisturbed water sample can be collected.
